Hi, im a tanker inside GW and i wear full primeval with a forgotten shield.... i do missions, questing, HM, FoW, and UW... i haven't put any runes on my armor yet... what should i put on and on what pieces? thanks for your time!

How come no one said superior absorption yet? That works in PvE since monster ai don't swap to an elemental set to hit you.

I would say Sentinel's or Survior's Insignias should work fine overall and also being a tank. If you're a stance tank, Sentry's work. Brawler's if you want to stop being a tank and actually attack. Have a superior vigor and then a rune of clarity or vitaes. If you're build is energy heavy, radiant and attunement. Stonefist Insignia (on gauntlets or boots preferably) if you use knock downs.

Because it sucks. If you're dying because of physical damage, you're doing something wrong.

In the days that Absorption reduced all incoming damage instead of just Physical damage, Absorption was incredible. Since they changed it back in '06, the price for a Sup Absorption (justifiably) dropped from ~60k to 100g at the Rune Trader. With max armor and shield, a Warrior has 96AL vs. Elemental damage and 116AL vs. Physical damage. That should be more than enough to carry him/her through.

My rune/insignia setup is as follows:

Helm: Survivor sig, Minor Axe/Hammer/Sword (1 helm for each) or Minor Strength (Scythe)
Chest: Survivor sig, Sup Vigor
Gloves: Stonefist sig, Minor Strength or Vitae (Scythe)
Legs: Survivor sig, Rune of Clarity (reduced Blind/Weakness; even in PvE Blind/Weak sucks)
Boots: Survivor sig, Rune of Vitae

Total HP is:

605 Hammer

615 Scythe

635 Axe/Sword+Shield

Please tell me that you are running the Forgotten Shield with a requirement in Strength rather than the one with a requirement in Tactics.

axe/sword/hammer headgear with minor (corresponding weapon) rune
Sup Vigor
minor strength

The few points in damage gained by using a Superior Weapon Mastery rune vs. a Minor Weapon Mastery rune aren't worth the -75hp penalty. End. Of. Story. Unless you are running a farming build, Tactics is worth less than a Shimmering Scale.

If you use any kind of KD at all, you fail at playing a Warrior if you aren't carrying a Stonefist insignia on your Boots, Helm, or Gloves.

Like I said in an earlier post, my max HP is 635 when equipping a Sword/Axe+Shield, 615 with a Scythe, or 605 with a Hammer.

Honestly tenetke, there is enough melee hate going around that I doubt it's the fact that the Warrior is sporting 5 Survivor insignias that explains your post. Maybe you just fight terribaed Warriors who don't know how to play? Methinks so. And if you aren't using some kind of KD (i.e, at least Bull's Strike) in PvP, then you're running a bad build anyway.

As far as I could tell, Marty, Raudic was replying to the OP, not to tenetke's post. If he's playing PvE, he might not carry KD.

I realize now the point you were making with a double quote. I had a brain spasm when reading your post the first time. I have KD welded onto my PvP bar, just as a Stonefist sig is welded to my Gloves. That's why I missed tenetke's point and your response.

The last 3 days have been long, I'm allowed to have a brain spaz.

Meh. Gloves, Boots, or Helm. All works the same. All have a 12.5% chance of being hit vs. the higher percentage on Legs or highest on Chest. All give +1e from a Radiant insignia or +5hp from a Survivor insignia.

The most probable reason that they are called Stonefist is because before insignias, the only way you could get the bonus was from Stonefist Gauntlets/Gloves, which were available in Droknar's Forge (a few other places iirc, I know you could get them in Drok's). And yes, the Stonefists were it. You either had those Gloves, or you didn't have bonus KD time. Mine are on my Gloves. Always have been.

well, you dont want it on the hear obviously because you switch that around.
as for the feet, there have been a few experiments where it seemed like certain spells always hit the target on their feet. I don't know if this is true or not, but i would rather just have the feet open for an armor insignia.

Nope. No attack or spell always targets a specific armor area. There is a chance that it could hit the Boots/Feet (12.5% to be precise), just like it could hit one of the other 4 armor locations.
